If your client wishes to stay with CP/M he should know about ASCII word processors, notably Perfect Writer. The only reason for going to WordPerfect is to make your output files usable by someone else. If working only for own use and printing, it's not worth learning WordPerfect's huge command structure. - --- Maximus-CBCS v1.00 * Origin: R&D BBS (1:163/226) ------------------------------ Date: 06-11-90 To: ANDREW TAYLOR Subject: RE: RAINBOW KEYBOARD CABL From: FRANK MALLORY Mark Bornstein used to sell the long keyboard cables. It is simply called BACKUP. It has never failed me, with one exception. When performing CP/M backups, it is best to start with freshly initialized disks because the CP/M BACKUP sometimes doesn't delete the old disk contents properly. On the DOS side, you can't backup a hard drive partition that has a bunch of small files on it. DOS BACKUP keeps a table of files to be backed up, instead of a linked list structure. As a result, you can run into situations where the number of files to be backed up is larger than the number the table can contain. As a workaround, simply backup the partition, specifying the root directories. Other than that, I can't suggest any third-party backup utilities As Always, Paul - --- ConfMail V3.31 * Origin: The Pot of Gold - (703-359-6549) (1:109/103) ------------------------------
