Harold, I have been using DSGEN, the generic form of DSBACKUP for years and think it's a great program. It packs data onto diskettes byte-to-byte (completly filling the diskette) so you need to keep your backup sets in volume sets. But you can restore any 1 file or group of files. It's also a *lot* faster than DOS backup. DSBACKUP+ (the current name) is for the IBM PC/AT family, but they used to include a generic version called DSGEN.COM which would run on any DOS machine. DSGEN also bypasses all the menu-driven garbage and a allows command line, batch file programming. For the Rainbow, it's the only one I know about that works reliably. Available at 'Egghead' or similar stores, Design Software is the company that writes it: Design Software 1275 W. For me, that was the attraction: I still use SEDT and DJINN on Rainbows and PC's. It's nice having common ground on as many systems as possible. - --- Sirius 1.0w * Origin: * Med TechNet * , Buffalo, NY 716/897-0504 (1:260/10.0) ------------------------------
