Message-ID: <942@motcsd.csd.mot.com> Date: 12 Jun 90 17:42:16 GMT Sender: usenet@motcsd.csd.mot.com Followup-To: comp.text.desktop Distribution: usa Organization: Motorola CSD, Cupertino CA Lines: 16 When PageMaker 3.0 reads in a 1.0 document, it seems to go through a slow process which probably entails the translation of the 1.0 data into a new and improved format. After that, saving the document in 3.0 format (with a .PM3 extension rather than .PUB) works fine, and subsequent loading of the 3.0 version of the document is plenty fast. All that is fine. Here is my problem. I have one document which is exceedingly big: approx 1.1 Meg! PageMaker 3.0 simply cannot load it! It chugs away for a few minutes (disk busy also) and then displays the standard error message for being unable for "translate" the document. I noticed that the same error message came up with other 1.0 documents, but for a different reason: there was not enough temporary disk space. After freeing up some disk space, those docs loaded fine. Anyone with some insight into this...*HELP* !
