Conversely, I have been trying to get a copy of the messages that "disappeared
into ethernet".  I understand there was a discussion of ethernet performance
issues.

I'd like to get some typical and high-end numbers on the transfer speed of
FTP on local Ethernet.  Does anyone regularly experience 100K/s?  How about
200K/s?  More?
