Message-ID: <1990Jun17.163729.1901@vaxa.uwa.oz> Date: 17 Jun 90 08:37:29 GMT Organization: University of Western Australia Lines: 19 I am having major problems with an IBM PC XT with a Persyst memory board. Both the micro and the board are OLD. I am trying to track down the DIP switch settings for the Persyst board as am unable to locate a manual for the stupid thing. Any one with experience with these type of boards, could you please mail me if you know where I might be able to get the switch settings. My problems started with the CHKDSK program only showing 622 KBytes. It then extended to PARITY CHECK 2 failures, when running MS-CHART and SAS/GRAPH. These PARITY CHECK 2 errors became more frequent, even occuring at bootup time. Now none of my installed software will run. Software such as MS-Word 5, Harvard Graphics, MS-Chart, PC-SAS does not even fire up anymore. Trying to run any of these packages just sends the PC into below zero conditions. (i.e. freezes the damn thing). Only a hardware reboot will work after this. So, anybody out there with any knowledge of what may be wrong, please mail me ASAP. My PhD is on the line unless I can get this thing working as soon as possible.
