             WITHDRAWAL FROM MARKETING OF
       IBM ACADEMIC OPERATING SYSTEM 4.3 (IBM/4.3)

IBM Announces the immediate withdrawal from marketing of the following
PRPQ programs and their associated features:

  - PRPQ 5799-WZQ  IBM/4.3 for the IBM RT System
  - PRPQ 5799-PFF  IBM/4.3 for the IBM 6152 Academic System
  - PRPQ 5799-CRH  The IBM Andrew File System
  - PRPQ 5799-PEZ  MetaWare Professional Pascal

Central Service support for these programs will continue through
December 22, 1990.  IBM will distribute cleanup PTF's, if deemed
necessary, during the first quarter of 1991.  Affected customers
will be notified in writing by AWD Development, Palo Alto, prior
to June 22, 1990.
