I have been attracted to the Tandy 1100FD (amoungst others). My question to net has to do with the general usefulness (or lack thereof) of the built in DeskMate software. My understanding of this stuff is that it is basically a collection of watered-down "traditional" PC applications (spreadsheet, wordprocessor, etc.) along with some SideKick-like "popup" applications. Just exactly how anemic is this stuff? Also, how much of it is cut into ROM? At some point soon I'll make it down to the local Radio Shack and play around. In the meantime, I'm curious as to the (generally quite well informed) opinions of comp.sys.laptop readers. -Andy Newman (Sys. Prog. Yale Univ.)
