When I turned on my Mac II, my internal harddisk refuses to start up.
i.e. my Mac II doesn't recognize the harddisk and keeps prompting me for
a disk. I can hear some noise the harddisk is making and it is not the
noise it makes when it is reading/writing.

I have a internal 40MB drive by Apple.
