American Power Conversion (800) 541-8896 makes the best values in off-line units (Kenington UPS's are made by APC). By 'best value' I mean that there are better units made, but at a significantly higher price. I bought an APC 600LS for my IIci with color and three SCSI devices. I intend to add another SCSI device and another monitor so I bought a little oversized. For a small system, the APC 370ci is a great choice. It has sine wave output, built in diagnostics, and fits under a IIcx/i. For smaller systems there is the 110SE (for SE-like machines). I suggest calling Best and APC and getting their literature (APC will send you a 1" binder-full) and see whose story you believe about UPS's. There are a LOT of UPS manufacturers, and I'm sure I missed checking out some, and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone by ignoring them or their UPS's. --mike kranzdorf internet: mikek@boulder.colorado.edu uucp:{ncar|nbires}!boulder!mikek
