I double-clicked some application (on my hard disk) :to launch it, and was given the dreaded 'Please insert the floppy you just :put away' modeless dialog box. Well, friends, I just hit the old Command-. :and the dialog box WENT AWAY! AND THE APPLICATION LAUNCHED! HURRAY! : : Thanks, Apple! That was great. I wonder why it didn't work for me today. Someone used my system to copy a file to his diskette, then walked away with the diskette leaving the ghost image. I tried command-period a couple times, but finally had to go back and get the diskette. System 6.0.4 running multifinder. I doubt if anything else matters.
