I understand that right now I can do the following: 1. Keep everything (including the hard disk) while the machine is plugged into the wall. 2. Select the time for hard disk "sleep" and system "sleep" respectively. I almost always have my machine plugged in. What I would like is to be able to turn off that (oh so noisy) hard drive at will without having to put the whole system to sleep. I would also like the option to have the hard drive go off after x minutes but not ever have the system go to sleep (or even into the slow mode.) Hey Apple! How about it? * (I just re-read number 1 above. Yes, there are gremlins hiding that jump out and steal my computer whenever I unplug it. :) I leave the true meaning of that sentence to be an exercise in intuition) (Oh for a reasonable link to the Net. I'm obviously not composing this on my mac.) .
