Thanks to the people who pointed me in the right direction with regards
to finding a uudecode for the Macintosh.

Firstly, Pete Gontier's 'Un*xFiles' 1.0 is available via anon ftp from

rascal.ics.utexas.edu

in the mac/utilities directory. It is a basic implementation of 
uuencode/decode.

Another person posted me a copy of 'uudecode' 1.1a0 by Polished Pixels.
This program is a little more informative, and seems ideally suited
to unpacking GIF files as it can automatically set file type/creator
as needed.

I'm not sure where you can get this one from - I guess if a lot
of people want it then I can make it available for anon ftp at
my site if that is ok with the author.

Others indicated they were writing a version for the Mac, so I 
guess I will have to look out for these too.
