Sorry to hassle y'all on so many different groups, but this is a fairly important purchase for me so I need the widest possible input. I'm looking for a Macintosh startup system that fills certain basic needs; I'd like to have at least 1 Meg RAM and (not essentially but preferably) two 800K disk drives. A printer would be nice but not necessary, as would a trackball to replace the mouse. Software is not necessary at all; I'd be buying new MIDI applications anyway. Candidates would be the Plus, SE (I'm dreaming) or a 512K with a memory upgrade (preferably one that's already had the 512e package installed as well). The most critical factor is pricing; I'm not rich, and the less I can spend, the better off I'll be. Let's put it this way; I have access to educational discounts, and I'd STILL have problems paying for a Mac Plus with an extra drive. |-< If anyone has such a system they'd be willing to sell, in good working order, please email me at either of the addresses below. I'd also appreciate informed estimates of what such a system, with or without the optional parts (2nd drive, printer, trackball) should cost on today's market, so I know what to expect. Many thanks. -- metlay | METLAY'S LAW: | If you can't go into your local store, ask for mpmst1@unix.cis.pitt.edu | it, pay for it and walk out with it, then it's metlay@vms.cis.pitt.edu | vaporware, and you shouldn't waste time on it.
