Essentially, GUIDE is the equivalent of Interface Builder for OpenWindows (Sun's X Window Manager). Naturally, GUIDE generates C code instead of Objective-C. I imagine one consequence of this is that you can't design your own objects. However, Since GUIDE generates SunView calls (Sun's X toolkit, which is a superset of the Xt toolkit) it has many (?) more standard objects than are available with Interface Builder. For instance, one of the standard X Widgets is a Shell widget; which means that any program can have an instant shell escape (which minimizes the need for a user to also have a terminal window open). [If I'm not mistaken, such an object is not amoung the standard Interface Builder objects.] Any comments would be appreciated. p.s. I've only had minimal exposure to both Interface Builder and GUIDE.
