I have written an ImageWriter driver for NeXT and it has been in use
for some time now. It prints in 72 dpi, since the 144 dpi resolution
is horizontal only (72 dpi vertical still) and uses overlapping dots
that look quite ugly.

You use it just like any other printer. Select it in the Print panel
and away it goes. It has only been distributed to the local user's
group here in Vancouver, but if there is sufficient interest I will
post it into an archive.
