I am encountering much pain in trying to make named work on a Sparcserver
330 running SunOS 4.1. Well, to be more specific, it seems that the only
programs which believe that it is running are nslookup and nstest.  I
can't, for example, ping, telnet or ftp to something not listed in my
hosts file. Have I missed something obvious?
