Are they even supported in | SunOS4.1 ? There's no SunOS 4.1c - it's all called 4.1, with qualifications for the kernel architecture. That is, my tapes say either "4.1 Sun-4c" or "4.1 SunOS Sun-4". The 4.1 mtio(4) manual page lists "8mm Cartridge Tape" as a supported medium, with no qualifications for the host architecure.
