Lines: 17 for an application. The FM is really uninformative about named pipes by the way as were most of the other "standard references". I found useable/understandable examples in "Unix Network Programming" although even these were rather spare. So my questions: 1) Is there anything out there in public domain that actually uses named pipes? 2) If not (and I almost would bet on this) why are they there? 3) What about Unix domain sockets vs named pipes?
