The Cardinal MB2400EX External 2400 Bps modem I have online here is not the same modem you purchased. Mine does indeed have _hardware_ MNP (levels 1 to 5), full flow control including CTS/RTS and XON/XOFF, and full Async and Synchronous support. I get very good throughput, even when transferring binary files. In fact, I see better than 250 CPS on larger files when UUCP sites with HSTs call twiki.
