Does anyone have a version of the "fill-*" commands that accommodates
backspaces (^H) in the text, such as are used for underlining,
overstriking, and so on?  

In other words "fill-*" commands that produce filled paragraphs, &c,
in the output file rather than filled paragraphs on the screen?

(Of course in effect this amounts to counting ^H as -1 characters in the
character count for any line.)
