every once in a while we get mail with the Cc header looking like:
  
                             Cc: <>

sendmail hates this. as a matter of fact when this happens the mail gets
stuck in the mail queue. i know that the problem is on the other site; they
should never generated the Cc <> but how can i take care of it so that 
sendmail either sends the mail back for ignores the Cc: <> completley?
