Please forgive me if I am asking this simple question in the wrong
news group.  However, I haven't seen a better group to ask!  So here
goes.

I am searching for a good definition of system engineering.  This 
definition will be used for a graduate school proposal directed
toward my company.  I work for a group of people who are not highly
technical.  Therefore, the definition will have to be written for
such a group.

Any help with this definition will be greatly appreciated.
