I believe you will find that the problem is that the current system for newsgroup creation doesn't allow for groups to be created in order to stimulate demand. The reason new groups are created at all, in general, is that there is no suitable arena for the topic, or that the topic is so popular, that it drowns out all others in one or more existing newsgroups. And this is as it should be; or we would have a huge number of newsgroups; or viewed differently, a keyspace unmanagable by an individual trying to decide what to read. Therefore, should your proposal fail, you might consider resubmitting it in a small number of years, when there are more ISO products, and more experience with the protocol stack, as that is when demand will require such a group. -- Eliot Lear [lear@turbo.bio.net]
