Promiscuous mode on the IBM Token Ring cards is not available on normal TR cards, special "Trace and Per- formance" Adapters that support Promiscuous mode need to be acquired from IBM. Furthermode the specs on how to put those adapters into promiscuous mode are not published by IBM. Third party adapters like those from Proteon and Western Digital perhaps could in principle be used were it not for the fact that the TR Packet Driver doesn't drive the hardware directly, it depends on an IBM defined ASA interface. That interface doesn't account for such a thing as promiscuous mode... -- Denis
