We will be assisting a group of programmers who hitherto have only worked
on PC's to move to a UNIX development environment.  Before this happens,
I'd like to be armed with some knowledge about general things-to-know,
pitfalls and suggestions from persons who have "made the trip" or who have
helped others to.

If you have any stories, advice, warnings or can point to literature of any
sort that could help, I'd be very grateful to receive it.
