    Hi everyone, 

  I recently found a public domain version of tar.  The reason I got it was
that I get many files from archives, and some come in the tar format.  I 
compiled and ran the tar program, but it only seems to work with disk drives.
I am simply trying to un-tar a file I already have in my directory.
