When I was looking into the NSC chip about a year ago, National had a sample blister pack that was widely available with one chip included. You might check again with the dist and make sure they can't get that sample pack for you. The chip has nice specs, but doesn't actually perform to those specs. :-( For the Frances board, the chip should work fine though... I'm suprised the Samsung doesn't work...
