To begin with, they have different scan codes on reset, which will cause the 301 error you probably saw. There is the IBM extended keyboard (the one with F11 and F12) which will work on both as long as you have the right BIOS ROM in your XT, but that's about it, unless you want to recode the BIOS or keyboard controller yourself and program the EPROMs. I doubt any of these opinions are those of my employer.
