I would like to report that I am having the same problem in conjunction with my Compaq SLT286. Quite often the diskettes become unreadable. Sometimes they become readable again after a few hours!!! Formatting the diskette again solves the problem, but, of course, data is lost. I shall appreciate it very much if anyone can suggest what is the source of the problem. I tried to format the diskettes by several methods (DOS, NORTNON, PCTOOLS) but nothing proved reliable. Michael Maschler
