The program is Fractint.ZIP (version 12 is the one I've got--from a local
BBS).  The filename is something like FRAINT12.ZIP.  All the features of
the commercial program, and many more!
It's a GNU program, but for PCs (and maybe Amigas--a fellow I know sug

The above program was suggested to me by Pat O'Connell.

However that was not the program I remember,  so I;m still looking through
all those ftp sites.  I'll post if anything turns up.
