Message-ID: <2530@nisca.ircc.ohio-state.edu> Date: 4 Jul 90 04:11:18 GMT Sender: news@nisca.ircc.ohio-state.edu Distribution: usa Organization: The Ohio State University (IRCC) Lines: 14 Can QD-2000 tape cartidges be used in tape drives that were designed to accept DC-2000 cartidges? It looks to me as if all Sony tape formats start with 'QD', and they don't have any 'DC' formats e.g. QD-600, and that they are actually identical to the 'DC' formats (since I didn't see 'QD' formats with any other manufacturer). But - I better be sure before I spend a fortune on tape cartidges. If DC and QD are indeed the same, I deplore the confusion Sony is creating with the labelling of their cartidges. -=- Peter Dotzauer, Analyt.Cart.& GIS, Dept.of Geogr., OSU, Columbus, OH 43210-1361 TEL +1 614 292 1357 FAX +1 614 292 6213 FIDO 1:226/330 CCnet mapvxa::pjd INTERNET pjd+@osu.edu FreeNet: ak061@cleveland.freenet.edu BITNET pjd@ohstvmb UUCP ...!osu-cis!hpuxa.ircc.ohio-state.edu!pjd
