And the hostage taking was precipitated by the U.S. allowing the Shah into this country when they wanted him to stand trial in Iran. I don't remember the U.S. apologizing to Iran for this. I don't care much for the present Iranian government. It came to power by reaping the fruits of the anti-Shah sentiment, and as with most revolutionary governments, it has failed miserably in delivering a better life to the people, but at least it has brought a certain amount of dignity to the people of Iran.
