I am engaged in runic research and have decided that the easiest way to
compose my papers is to create custom fonts containing the various and sundry
futharks.  I have created the bitmaps but continually run into problems when
I install my fonts.  I do not own any of the fabled volumes of _Inside
Macintosh_ and, therefore, am hopelessly lost when it comes to font IDs, etc.
I simply thought that copying a font, changing its bitmaps, and reinstalling
it with a new name would work.  Apparently it does not.  If someone would be
so kind as to mail me (preferrably to woodward@phs.bgsm.wfu.edu) information
on how to set up custom font resources I would be very happy indeed.
Assuming I get some replies I'll summarize to the net.
