I think it would work.  Some of the questions I've asked have been "I need
to know this, but I'm asking now, three weeks before I *need* to know", and
of course, those are the ones that get answered in a day, and the "I've got
a release tomorrow, ..." questions drop into a black hole.  A priority
scheme would be just fine, if it could be kept to.
