Keywords: Objects Standards Publication Objective-C Message-ID: Date: 28 Jun 90 20:51:58 GMT Sender: news@xavier.swarthmore.edu (Usenet News) Organization: Swarthmore College, PA, USA Lines: 21 Is the NeXT community ready for a publication which would list specifications of objects for sale (or for free), and possibly have discussions of some standard interfaces for kinds of objects on top of NeXT Step? As far as standards, I'm thinking of possible messages that would be standard for objects that to certain things. People may want a standard interface to View subclasses that display the fourier transform of a Sound object, for example. I'm interested in people's reactions to the suggestion of such a publication. It may be way to early in the life of the NeXT, then again maybe not. It also might be something that should be relegated to advertising in a NeXT magazine or User's group newsletters or whatever, or in catalogs by companies who offer object libraries as products.
