Message-ID: <25642@unix.cis.pitt.edu> Date: 4 Jul 90 03:51:23 GMT Reply-To: gnast@unix.cis.pitt.edu (Aldo Antonelli) Organization: Univ. of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Philosophy Lines: 32 References: Hi there. I've been using TeX on the mainframe for a few months now, and I decided that it would be nice to a copy running on my PC as well. So I ftp'ed sb30tex.zip from SIMTEL, unzipped, installed it, and run initex, all this following (I think) the directions of the .doc file. But when I try to run TeX I get the following error message: (fatal format file error; I'm stymied) which, I gather, signifies a format file for a different version of sbtex. So I checked, but the plain.tex file indicates version 3.0, i.e. the same as the program I'm running. Could anybody help? I would greatly appreciate it. (I hope I've provided enough information, if not, e-mail me.) SInce we're at it, one more question: does anybody have any pointers to a dvi driver for the IBM Proprinter? (Quality is obviously not a concern here: I would use for drafts.) Thanks a lot. -- Aldo Aldo Antonelli Univ. of Pittsburgh --- Philosophy gnast@unix.cis.pitt.edu aldo@vms.cis.pitt.edu
