When I unshared these files ('sh pnn') many source lines, particularly text strings, were broken into two lines. This causes trouble when I try to compile. I had a similar problem with the Byte unix benchmarks. I am running SCO Unix V/386 and I have confirmed that ISC Unix (Not 2.2 or whatever is the latest) does the same thing. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? (A previous post to comp.unix.questions drew zero response) Thanks for the help. hank
