So some schools go a total oral approach...hmmmm...didn't know that. Would a parent be able to choose whic approach he/she would want the child taught with? I'm learning alot here. Mary is just nonverbal and also brain-damaged, the sign in the end was what worked and was the solution for us. I'd always prefer it if she could speak but she cannot articulate intelligibly enough and was quite frustrated, before she went with sign.
