Other disabled people I know are working as independent microcomputer contractors. We used to swap & trade software with each other, then we started specializing. Leon went into Open Access, then Dataflex, where he is well-paid. Alan "played" with mice, "Hot", Word, then became expert at Ventura. GW> Icould get into make thing on Ventura but ... Alan still just has his one dot matrix machine. He "bluffed" his knowledge with Ventura, because compared to those who employed him, he is THE EXPERT! The "penalty" was that he had to study long hours each night and every weekend, so that he could really become "the expert". GW> first......thanks. lets all get rich and not need to work Both men are sufficiently impaired that they could sit back and just live off the pension. What we like about work is the feeling of "Worth" and "Belonging". If you are genuine about stop being a parasite, try volunteer work. Then study like crazy in just one aspect of the volunteer work. After that, the jobs will surprise you. In one case, my old employers were thinking of replacing their existing mini-computer. So I studied their needs - as a volunteer. Then I learnt about PC-FILE (a shareware program). Finally, they gave me the computer job. I'm getting that many (most) people employed in microcomputer jobs did the steps I outlined above. And that covers both disabled & able-bodied people. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!3!712!631!Greg.See-Kee Internet: Greg.See-Kee@f631.n712.z3.fidonet.org
