Reading vol8 #17  Lesley Schneider asks about sources of ribbon tweeters.

They seem to be generating a lot of interest in the UK and Europe at the mo'
with two major manufacturers bringing out new speakers with ribbon units.

One of them is Celestion - they've released a range 3000,5000 and 7000 with
a 14" ribbon midrange/tweeter.  They've designed the ribbon from scratch and
have got around the old ribbon problem of very low efficiency.  These speakers
are EXCELLENT - don't know if they've reached your shores yet but look out for
them when they do.  They are totally lucid and transparent from midrange through
to top-end - I've had a pair on trial for a week, and they make every other
speaker I've ever listened to sound coloured in comparison.  Uk selling price
is 800 pounds to 1100 pounds.  They're quite a big box too so bass response is
good (although British taste differs slightly from you guys over the pond -
but that's another story ...).

Lesley, Celestion may well sell the ribbon separately, I'm not sure.  If you
