I would like to get articles about the side effects of the hyper-immune response. Apparently, the large amount of antibodies tend to clog up the kidneys. I would like to get information on that. I don't have any experience doing "medical" searches. I assume that they can help me at the medical library. (but if someone can give me a quick rundown it would be great) What would I search for -- if I searched for "antibodies" I would think I would come up with billions of articles. Does anyone know the catch-words for the relevant topics? What are the legalities of using animals in a commercial environment? I know that universities have a committee that reviews experiment's protocols. But if the work is not sponsored by a University what needs to be done? Also, I have been told there might be opportunities to get funding through NIH or some other government agencies. How difficult is that to do if you are not affiliated with a University Lab, and how interested are they in antibodies? What level of purification is most useful to people? Does anyone have a spare centrifuge they want to get rid of? I have a microbiologist to help with the details so there will be expertise there (as you can tell I don't have) ----- John Carey University of Illinois Dept. of Computer Science carey@a.cs.uiuc.edu {uu-net,pur-ee,convex,...}!uiucdcs!carey
