Anyone have a chart of Seagate drive specs, or >know where I could call or write to get this data? I believe the 506 was a 5-meg unit. I don't have the book on it, but I do have the books on the 600 series and the 700 series. Best I can do is give you specs for those, and maybe it will help. I think they will be similar; just the environmentals change and the 700-series is half height. (???!) The 700 series is RLL-capable and actually has 350 usable cylinders. I've had 2 712s running for 3 years now on a 2,7 RLL controller using 350 cylinders. This yields 18MB and change. I've had no trouble with them. According to the book, the 600 series has 180 usable cylinders (based on a ship zone at 182). I don't know about RLL on the 600s... ---------------------------------------------------------- Gordon S. Hlavenka cgordon@vpnet.chi.il.us Disclaimer: He's lying
