GNU cpio 1.1 is now available on prep.ai.mit.edu [18.71.0.38] as
pub/gnu/cpio-1.1.tar.Z.  It fixes a byte-order problem for binary
headers and adds automatic recognition of binary and ASCII cpio
archives, and skipping of junk between files to try to recover from
corrupted archives.
