You know, when I made out the report I had a nagging feeling I had left out something. I failed to mention that the stty definition did not specify padding of 's. Nor did changing the pad to DEL cause CR's to be padded with DEL. Another writer explained that telnet uses the NUL to indicate the a LF will not follow, and that the local TCP should strip it out, which it is not doing.
