I am aware of SAS being DSRI compliant and thus able
to access Interbase or Rdb based systems however I
was wondering if anyone knows of other commerically
available packages (not other 4gl etc) . Specifically
in the area of 

	Mapping/plotting software 

I am working on Curator system for the Canadian Museum
of Natural sciences who want to chart information onto 
maps of the world (currently the only do Canada) . 

Any other info is greatly appreciated
