I could use the follow .forward: "|/cso/staff/phil/.forward-csh" and the file ".forward-csh" has: #!/bin/csh cd ~/.mail exec /usr/local/bin/filter -o ../.filter-errors >>& ../.filter-stderr and thus reference non-absolute path names relative to my ".mail" subdirectory from the .filter-rules file.
