It's getting irritating. OK, so how do we get a *path* through the internet? Even if everyone is domainised, somewhere someone out in UUCP land *has* to run pathalias to figure out how to get there. So we have to deal with mixed precedence addresses, or use source routing. People are going to source routing, because the address: a!b@c is interpreted differently by different mailers, as is the address: a!b%c It's not a straw man. It's bounced mail. It's getting less common as more and more sites support pure bang paths, but there are always folks who insist on mixed syntax. And it's as much a problem here as it is in C declarations.
