I have used PC MINIX 1.2 for an intermediate operating systems class and would like to continue playing with it on my Mac. The questions are: 1. Does a robust version of MINIX exist yet for the Mac? 2. Does its presence on a hard disk interfere with the normal Mac system and Finder? The machine would still have to function occasionally as a Mac. 3. How much hard disk space is required for the bare-bones? For the sources? 4. Is one meg enough RAM? 5. Does it boot from a floppy like the PC version to short-circuit a boot from the hard disk? 6. I have Tannenbaum's book with 1.2's kernel. Aside from the 8088 assembler, will this suffice for a kernel reference? E-mail responses are fine: jwindley@matt.ksu.ksu.edu -- "Eat any good books lately?"
