AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

While transversing this ugly thing they call a mainframe (an IBM 3090-600s) all
of the files keep getting messed up somehow.  Let me ask this stupid question
then:

   Are these files supposed to be transfered ASCII or Binary?

I have not been able to have Minix either uudecode or uncompress any of the
files, thus I assume something is going wrong.  Also on another note:

    The info file says that I need to have stuff from the PC 1.3 -> 1.5.0
    upgrade.  Which files do I need from the archive?  And, when going thru
    old articles on Bugs.xxxx.mil I found one with parts #1-70 listed but,
    the info file for upgrading the ST version has stuff about parts #71-73
    in it for the PC ... what are these files?

Please help me!  I would like to get 1.5.0 running soon.  It has several things
in it that I would definitely like.

P.S.  In 1.5.0 is the bourne shell updated to handle command histories?
