DNET offers multiplexed data over the serial line, so it is possible to have more that 1 terminal window open to the sun system. In additional DNET adds error correction so you will not see noise on the line. I have been able to use DNET under line conditions that I would not be able to tolerate using a standard terminal emulator because of noise. Unless you are makeing use of the multiple windows/error correction this functionality is slowing down the line, and I suggest you consider one of the many PD or commercial terminal emulators that are available. (ie, Dave Weckers vt100 is my favorite). If you are like me however after getting the multiple windows to the sun system from my Amiga, you will never be happy with standard terminal emulators again.
